Les scientifiques seraient en train de d\u00e9velopper un \u00ab collier intelligent \u00bb qui pourrait potentiellement aider les fumeurs \u00e0 arr\u00eater de fumer.<\/p>\n

Le dispositif de surveillance, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par des chercheurs de la Northwestern University aux \u00c9tats-Unis, s'appelle SmokeMon. <\/p>\n

L'\u00e9tude sur le nouveau dispositif prometteur a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e dans la revue Actes de l'ACM sur les technologies interactives, mobiles, portables et omnipr\u00e9sentes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Le collier est constitu\u00e9 d\u2019une petite bo\u00eete bleue qui cache une technologie de d\u00e9tection de chaleur. Cependant, il pouvait \u00eatre fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 de n'importe quelle mani\u00e8re pour s'adapter aux diff\u00e9rents styles des gens au fil du temps.<\/p>\n

Les chercheurs visent \u00e0 utiliser l'appareil pour surveiller les fumeurs lorsqu'ils en allument un et leur sugg\u00e9rer l'aide dont ils ont besoin pour arr\u00eater cette habitude.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Pour de nombreuses personnes qui tentent d\u2019arr\u00eater de fumer, une ou deux cigarettes, voire une seule bouff\u00e9e, suffisent. Mais une erreur n\u2019est pas la m\u00eame chose qu\u2019une rechute (revenir r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement au tabac) \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l\u2019auteur principal Nabil Alshurafa, sp\u00e9cialiste du comportement et de l\u2019informatique \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Northwestern : Alerte scientifique<\/a> signal\u00e9. \u00ab Une personne peut apprendre de ses erreurs, en prenant conscience qu\u2019elle n\u2019a pas \u00e9chou\u00e9, mais qu\u2019elle a simplement subi un revers temporaire. Pour \u00e9viter une rechute, nous pouvons alors commencer \u00e0 les concentrer sur la fa\u00e7on dont nous g\u00e9rons leurs d\u00e9clencheurs et g\u00e9rons les fringales. <\/p>\n

La nouvelle technologie a un avantage sur les autres prototypes dans la mesure o\u00f9 elle d\u00e9tecte fumeur<\/a> avec plus de pr\u00e9cision et de discr\u00e9tion que d'autres.<\/p>\n

Fonctionnant sur batterie, l'appareil utilise des capteurs thermiques pour d\u00e9tecter la chaleur rayonnante du bout d'une cigarette allum\u00e9e et collecte des donn\u00e9es sur chaque cigarette. Des informations telles que le nombre de bouff\u00e9es, la quantit\u00e9 de fum\u00e9e inhal\u00e9e et le temps entre les bouff\u00e9es sont collect\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Dans l'\u00e9tude, 19 personnes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9es pour d\u00e9terminer leur comportement tabagique lorsqu'elles portaient le collier intelligent. L'\u00e9tude a men\u00e9 115 s\u00e9ances, \u00e0 la fois en laboratoire et dans le monde r\u00e9el. <\/p>\n

L'objectif principal des tests du collier en dehors du laboratoire \u00e9tait de voir s'il mettait les fumeurs mal \u00e0 l'aise en public et s'il suscitait une r\u00e9action de la part des passants.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s analyse, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 constat\u00e9 que la plupart des participants n'ont signal\u00e9 aucune interf\u00e9rence avec leur vie quotidienne ou leur comportement tabagique \u00e0 cause de l'appareil.  <\/p>\n

Un participant \u00e0 l'\u00e9tude a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab J'avais un ami qui m'a demand\u00e9 ce que l'appareil enregistrait, et il a sembl\u00e9 satisfait lorsque je lui ai dit qu'il n'enregistrait ni audio ni vid\u00e9o. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Pour des recherches futures, les auteurs ont fourni un plateforme de traitement de donn\u00e9es open source<\/a>, dans le but d'\u00e9valuer le comportement tabagique.<\/p>\n

"Nous pouvons maintenant commencer \u00e0 tester l'efficacit\u00e9 de ce dispositif pour am\u00e9liorer le taux de r\u00e9ussite des programmes de sevrage tabagique en pr\u00e9venant les rechutes chez les fumeurs qui envisagent d'arr\u00eater", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Alshurafa, selon le m\u00e9dia. \u00ab Nous serons en mesure de tester si les commentaires et les interventions en temps r\u00e9el peuvent \u00eatre plus efficaces que les soins habituels. \u00bb<\/p>\n
